With a second-day box office haul of Rs. 5–5.25 crores, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu continued to perform strongly, bringing its two-day cume to roughly Rs. 14.25 crores. It dropped by 45% from opening day, which is typical for a Thursday debut. The movie's two-day earnings and trend are comparable to those of Silambarasan TR's previous release, Maanaadu. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will be expected to duplicate the significant increases in sales that Maanaadu had on Saturday and Sunday.
Today marks the release of the Life of Muthu movie in Telugu dubbing, which is expected to increase box office receipts. The movie's four-day extended opening weekend is projected to bring in approximately Rs. 31-32 crores.
The movie's total in Tamil Nadu rose to Rs. 12.75 crores after earning approximately Rs. 4.50 crores yesterday. Although Chennai city fared significantly better than the rest of the state with a decline of just around 50%, the drops were generally similar across the board at around 55%. Only a small number of states have reported collections outside of Tamil Nadu, with Karnataka reporting the highest total at just under a crore.
