The major category in IFFI is the international competition in which the films made across the world stand in contention to claim the Golden Peacock award. This time, there are 15 films in contention. While 13 of them are foreign films, two are from India.
The 13 films that are in contention are, Balloon (China), Chronology (Turkey), Lillian (Austria), Marighella (Brazil), Out Stealing Horses (Norway-Sweden-Denmark), Particles (France-Switzerland), Stories from the Chestnut Woods (Slovenia), The Science of Fictions (Indonesia-Malaysia-France), Steed (Mongolia), Captives (Hungary), Watch List (Philippines), Antigone (Canada) and Son-Mother (Iran-Czech Republic).
All these 13 films are from different countries and got acclaimed at various other film festivals. A specially appointed jury, which comprises of renowned international filmmakers, will declare the winner among them on the last day of the festival.
