'Rebel Star' Prabhas has a unique filmography. Although there might not be a number of blockbusters, there are, for sure, certain sensible films, such as 'Chakram', 'Pournami' and the later marks 14 years of its release. Directed by Prabhudeva, the films deal about the cultural aspect with a conflict of honour killings. Prabhas plays the lead role of Siva Kesava, along with Trisha & Charmy Kaur in female lead roles, and Trisha plays the titular role. It's the only film where Prabhas not in the titular role. The film is a period drama and the location & set accordance got a positive response.
Produced by M.S. Raju, who is popular for his own sensible films, it is a consecutive collaboration with Prabhu Deva & Trisha after 'Nuvvosthanate Nenoodhantana'. Like his other film, M.S.Raju, and his team forged in to produce a cultural cinema but the effort got praises while the film was not received the same. The film didn't do well at the box-office while the reception to the film was good.
The film went on to get a good reception when it was telecasted on television. And the film gained a good following in the coming years on the television platform. Songs by devi sri prasad were chartbuster and the song 'Muvvala' is as one of his best compositions. Prabhudeva & Prabhas have expressed the film should have made a bit later as the image of Prabhas was different during the films released and the result would have varied. Anyway, cheers to the team on the eve of its release.
