While Superstar Rajinikanth is gearing up for his next release with ‘Darbar’ and shooting for ‘Thalaivar 168’, there is one more good news for superstar’s fan base this year. There have been media reports regarding a sequel for Rajnikanth’s classic film Chandramuki from 2005.
P Vasu’s directorial film is now creating buzz for a sequel, despite having one in the Telugu industry, called Nagavalli. However, the Telugu sequel had actor Venkatesh cast as the male lead actor, instead of superstar himself. This film was directed by P. Vasu himself. However, he went on to affirm the rumors regarding the sequel to an online entertainment channel. Chandramuki is the Tamil/Telugu version of a Malayalam film named Mani Chitra Tazhu. The film has also been remade in Bollywood as ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan.
Chandramuki’s star cast included Rajinikanth, Jyothika, Prabhu, Nayanthara, Nazar, Vadivelu among others. The horror-comedy movie was a sensational hit during the time and considered as a breakthrough film. Director P.Vasu has mentioned that they are in the process of finalizing cast and shoot schedule.
Rajnikanth’s Darbar, an AR Murugadoss directorial, is all set to hit the theatres on 9 January 2020. The film teaser came out just a few days back and it went viral right away. Stay tuned to find out whether Rajnikanth himself will be a part of this sequel.
