50 days of Kollywood's TN Industry Hit Viswasam

50 days of Kollywood's TN Industry Hit Viswasam

Thala Ajith’s mega-blockbuster Viswasam, directed by Siva and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, completes 50 days in many centers (said to be 125) across TN today, and also in some outer-TN markets. The film is the highest Kollywood grosser in TN, collecting more than 130 CR in the state. The lifetime theatrical share of Viswasam in TN will be close to 75 CR. It's next only to Baahubali 2 when it comes to TN gross and share. Thala Ajith and Siva have notched their biggest Hit together after their previous successes like Veeram and Vedalam. They've made a superb comeback after the forgettable Vivegam in 2017.

Viswasam will have it's Telugu and Kannada dubbed versions releasing in March. Whether the film can cross the 200 CR gross mark worldwide, depends on how the dubbed versions perform. The main reason for the massive success of Viswasam is its wholesome family appeal; the father-daughter sentiment clicked big time. There have been numerous viewers who felt emotionally overwhelmed in the climax. The ‘Kannana Kanney’ song has given a long-standing identity to Viswasam. Thala fans have had a ball dancing to ‘Adchi Thooku’ in theaters. D. Imman has delivered a sound score for the film.

We congratulate the team for delivering the biggest ever success story at the TN box office. Viswasam has injected a lot of optimism to Kollywood at the beginning of the year. The film will have a record number of 50th-day special shows today evening, with Thala fans making grand plans to celebrate Viswasam’s big milestone moment.

Some of the box office milestones set by Viswasam are as follows,

- Highest grosser in TN among all straight Tamil films.

- All-time No.2 gross and share in TN, after Baahubali 2.

- All-time No.5 grosser in Chennai city after 2.0, Baahubali 2, Petta and Sarkar.

- Thala Ajith’s career best grosser in TN and Karnataka.

Allu Arjun pens an emotion note for the legendary choreographer Saroj Khan

One of the most memorable scenes from the 2001 hit film Daddy was of young Allu Arjun's dance sequences. Even though he wasn't playing a leading role in the film, the audience noticed the young actor and his dancing skills. The dance sequences were choreographed by none other than the legendary choreographer Saroj Khan. Saroj Khan passed away due to a cardiac arrest in a hospital in Mumbai earlier today. As the country mourns the death of the famous and lovable personality, actor Allu Arjun shares a few words about her.

Allu Arjun shared a few photos from the sets of his debut film Daddy along with a photo of Saroj Khan to pay his respects. Allu Arjun wrote, "Saroj Ji! A Legendary choreographer no more. She was my 1st choreographer ever in the movie “ DADDY “. I have always admired her incredible body of work. A precious & an irreplaceable jewel in Indian Cinema. I bow down my respects for her and my deepest condolences to all the near and dear ones. RIP #Sarojkhan Ji."

The photos from the sets of Daddy show a very young Allu Arjun posing next to the camera and with Chiranjeevi. Chiranjeevi was the lead actor in Daddy. The film is remembered as the film that had Allu Arjun's first-ever dance scene. As Allu Arjun remembers his first dance scene and the choreographer Saroj Khan, his fans too join him in remembering the legendary choreographer in the comments section.
