Madapalli United, directed by Ajay Govind, is all set to be released outside Kerala. The film will be released on July 22 in theatres in Mumbai, Noida, Bangalore, and Chennai. The film was earlier premiered in Mumbai. A special premiere at Sunny Super Sound in Mumbai and a screening at the India Habitat Centre were planned for the film by the crew.
Screenings and panel discussions were attended by eminent guests like former cricketer Asif Karim, Javed Jaffrey, Chitrashi Rawat, Syed Kirmani, Rahul Mitra, and Murtaza Ali Khan, and many others.
Film critic Murtaza Ali Khan said about the film that Madapally United is not a typical sports film but about the right to play and is a must-watch for true sports lovers.
"A timely film. Madapally United is not a typical sports film about teams competing or winning. It's about the right to play, friendship, and mutual respect! A must-see for sports teachers and true sports enthusiasts," said Murtaza Ali Khan.
"In the post-COVID world, a film getting a theatrical release is something special. I am happy that the audience will see the film in theatres," said writer-director Ajay Govind.
Harish Peradi, Srikanth Murali, and Savitri Sreedharan are playing the lead roles in the film and there are 45 newcomers. The film has received numerous awards at the national and international levels.
Cinematography by Tanveer Ahmed and editing by Krishna Prasad, the film tells the story of a small village called Madapalli and its abandoned children.
