Director Vetri Maaran is still enjoying the reception coming his way for his exceptional work in Vada Chennai. Even though the film released in 2018, viewers are still not over the mastery of Vetri Maaran. Recently, the director came up with another film with Dhanush titled Asuran.
Asuran released in October and was deemed as one of the best films in 2019. The film starring Dhanush, Manju Warrier, Pasupathy and Aadukalam Naren spoke about discrimination and caste injustice meted out to people living in the Tirunelveli region. The film was lauded by many famous personalities such as Mahesh Babu.
Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who closely follows Tamil cinema raves about Vetri Maaran and his brand of films. Recently, he shared a clipping of Vetri Maaran’s style on an international paper named Film Comment by the Lincoln Centre. He also called it a massive recognition that was long coming.
Sharing the clippings of the paper, Anurag Kadhyam wrote, “In film-related news - @FilmComment published by Lincoln Centre has done a massive write up on @VetriMaaran and his cinema .. this is a massive recognition for the man who deserved it for long . (sic)” Meanwhile, the Director is gearing up for his next film with Suriya.
