Kamal Haasan is one of the very few actors who single-handedly raised the bar for many filmmakers and actors. At the beginning of this millennium, he released one of his treasured films, Aalavandhan. Directed by Suresh Krishna, the film ended up as a damp squib at the box office.
After the film's failed, it left the cast and crew completely disappointed. Even though the actor's dual act earned the appreciation of the audience, it didn't quite translate into collections. However, after several years, the film was appreciated for its technical excellence.
Popular Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino said that the animated violence which is shown in Aalavandhan inspired him to make Kill Bill. Now, reports suggest that the film will be re-mastered and released again.
A source close to the team revealed that the re-mastered version will release in 2020. If everything goes per plan, then the trimmed version of Aalavandhan will release soon. An official confirmation will arrive soon. The film featured Raveena Tandon and Manisha Koirala.
