The Matrix trilogy of films is one of the most iconic science fiction films to ever have hit theatres across the world. The first three films starred actor Keanu Reeves in the lead. The franchise is soon going to return with a fourth film helmed by director and writer Lana Wachowski. In a recent interview, Keanu Reeves has revealed his reasoning behind returning for Matrix 4 even after all these years. The John Wick actor said that the upcoming Matrix film has a beautiful script and a wonderful story.
Keanu added saying, "Lana Wachowski wrote a beautiful script and a wonderful story that resonated with me. That's the only reason to do it."
While speaking to Empire Magazine Keanu said, "To work with her again is just amazing. It's been really special, and the story has, I think, some meaningful things to say, and that we can take some nourishment from."
Earlier, reports revealed that Warner Bros Pictures are attempting to resume shooting for Matrix 4 in July. Before the lockdown began Matrix 4 was shooting in Berlin after its cast and crew moved to the set location from San Francisco.
Matrix 4 also stars other actors from the original trilogy including Carrie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett Smith as Trinity and Niobe, respectively in the fourth chapter.
The film also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Brian J Smith, Toby Onwumere, and Jonathan Groff.
Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell have co-written the script with Wachowski. The film is scheduled for release in 2021.
