Actor Yash has stated that he does not want people to disparage Bollywood only because South films performed exceptionally well this year in the north. He argued that it is just a phase. He added that there is no justification for mistreating the Hindi film industry. He asked to stop mistreatment of Bollywood by using the success of movies like KGF 2 and Kantara. Both KGF 2 and Kantara have performed well in the north.
Yash reviewed the year in south Indian cinema and noted how they outperformed Bollywood. He asserted that the argument about north versus south films ought to be resolved. Yash continued by saying it's bad to corner people.
In an interview, Yash said, “I don’t want the people of Karnataka to put any other industry down. We have faced the same problem when everyone treated us the same way. We have worked hard to get that respect. After that, we cannot start disrespecting anyone. We should respect everybody. Respect Bollywood. Forget this north and south.”
“It’s not a good development when people start ridiculing Bollywood saying, ‘They are nothing’. It’s just a phase. They have taught us so many things,” he added.
KGF: Chapter 2 had a huge box office triumph. The movie made more than $1 billion worldwide. Over 10,000 screens around the world showed it. The Kannada film, which was remade and distributed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, had the greatest opening weekend ever. There were a lot of anticipation before the franchise's second installment's release.
