Tamannaah, after the underwhelming Devi 2, is back to Tamil with another horror comedy Petromax. Director Rohin Venkatesan has named the film after legendary comedian Goundamani’s iconic Petromax joke.
At the press meet of Petromax, Tamannaah said that she was very skeptical of signing this movie as her previous Tamil films Devi and Devi 2 were both horror comedies. However, after listening to the story, she got convinced.
She said that Petromax is a remake and is a lot different from the usual horror comedies. Also, she added that she wanted to play light roles after Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Kanne Kalaimaane, which is why she chose Petromax.
She also revealed that director Robin had told her a lot about the Petromax comedy scene featuring Goundamani and Senthil. So, she expressed her interest in meeting the legendary comedian Goundamani soon.
Tamannaah’s Petromax is the official Tamil remake of Telugu hit flick, Anando Brahma. The maker of the Tamil version has made slight changes to the Telugu script to suit the Tamil sensibilities.
