After An Exciting Debut, House Of The Dragon Is Renewed For Another Season

The HBO prequel to Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, received a second season renewal from the network even before the second episode of the series explosive August 21 premiere had aired.

The first episode of the House of the Dragon, which is set 170 years before the events of the original series and has over 10 million viewers, shattered the previous HBO record for a new show's premiere. Over the course of the preceding week, more than 20 million people saw the debut, according to HBO.

According to CNBC, HBO senior vice president Francesca Orsi announced the approval of season 2 in a statement, saying, "We are beyond proud of what the entire House of the Dragon team has accomplished with season 1."

Continuing, she said, "Our incredible cast and crew rose to a tremendous task and beyond all expectations, producing a show that has quickly become must-see TV. With season 2, we can't wait to keep bringing the epic story of House Targaryen to life." The current first season will run for 10 episodes before the second season's filming begins.

With season two of House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones-inspired entertainment that will be coming to HBO in the future is just getting started. There are numerous stories at various stages of development, according to author George R. R. Martin, who has mentioned this in interviews. In addition to the author's secret initiatives, the network will soon release a Jon Snow follow-up series.
