After delivering two successful films together, Ajay Devgnis once again collaborating with Bhushan Kumar for an upcoming project. Bhushan Kumar and Ajay Devgn are now in works to make a sequel for 2018's hit film Raid. Previously producer Bhushan Kumar and actor Ajay Devgn came together to make the highly successful film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
Other than the sequel to raid the two celebrities are also making Bhuj: The Pride of India. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Kumar confirmed the news. The producer said, "It will be a huge multi-film franchise and Ajay ji and I, along with Kumar Mangat Ji, are looking to take Raid forward. The script of Part 2 is being developed. Since the original was a much-loved film, the sequel is a huge responsibility. After the super success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, there’s a lot of pressure on this collaboration to live up to the expectation. We have always aimed at creating high concept films.”
Another source added more insight into the sequel for Raid. It says, "The franchise seeks to bring into the public eye heroes who work closely with intelligence agencies to track white-collar crimes. To this day, nobody knows the identity of the officer on whom Ajay’s Amay was modeled. Raid 2 will also be a tribute to men who don’t wear the uniform.”
The original Raid film also stars Illeana D'Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. Raj Kumar Gupta directed the film. Raid grossed an approximate Rs. 150 crores at the box office.
