Akshay Kumar donates ₹1 crore to Odisha cyclone victims!
Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar has donated a sum of Rs 1 crore to the cyclone hit Odisha state. The cyclone Fani has caused severe property damage which is tuned up to hundreds of crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi who visited Odisha to witness the destruction caused by cyclone Fani, has announced Rs 1000 crore as initial disaster assistance to the state. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has appealed to the people of the country, to donate to rebuild Odisha. Yesterday Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu has announced Rs 15 crore as a donation and then many others are contributing too.
This is not for the first time that Akshay made such a big donation. Earlier he contributed Rs 5 crore for Bharat Ke Veer - a fund-raising initiative of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Then he donated Rs 1 crore each to Kerala and Tamil Nadu states when they were washed out by floods.
