A video leaked from the sets of Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi movie. It shows Akshay Kumar, who is in the lead role riding a sportbike with co-star Katrina Kaif. But, both of them are not wearing a helmet as seen in the video. The Bollywood actor rides a Honda CBR650F mid-capacity motorcycle. The model recently launched in India at Rs 7.70 lakh.
Helmets save a person from accidents. Being a popular actor with a huge fan following, this action sends a wrong message to his followers.
This is not the actor's first time riding a powerful motorcycle without a helmet. Akshay once rode a Ducati Monster motorcycle for a stunt scene on the roads of Bangkok for the same movie.
Rohit Shetty, shared on Instagram that safety is paramount. He wrote – “Before performing any stunt the most important thing is - SAFETY FIRST. (On Location...Bangkok...Stunt Rehearsals before Akshay performs the actual shot...#sooryavanshi) PS: Please do not try this stunt. All the drivers in the cars are stunt Professionals and the stunts are being performed in a controlled environment (sic)."
Still, Akshay Kumar also supports road safety. He does many campaigns to promote safe riding, especially with Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India.
Hope the actor begins wearing helmets even on movie sets for his fans to watch and learn. Meanwhile, his fans have taken to Twitter demanding an update on Sooryavanshi. They all want the first-look poster from the film. The film is set to hit theatres on 27 March 2020.
