Alia Bhatt is on a roll lately! The actress has recently worked on some incredible projects. Her movie Gangubai Kathiawadi is currently campaigning for the BAFTA and Oscars. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi bases itself on a chapter of the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by author Hussain Zaidi. Everyone has praised Alia Bhatt for her outstanding performance as Gangubai in the film. In a recent interview, she discussed the traits and features of Gangubai that she still possessed. She also shared all the beneficial lessons she had taken away from her persona.
Alia Bhatt was asked about the traits and facets of Gangubai that stuck with her during an interview. Alia acknowledged that she comes from a protected background. But the Kamathipura set marked the first time she had traversed that neighborhood's streets. Despite not visiting the area, she admitted that Sanjay Leela Bhansali helped her learn about Gangubai.
“The positive thing that I learned from her, which is actually like my personality, is that she never let that childlike innocence go. Even though she was fighting this big bad world, and being a part of this big bad world, so to speak. Her innocence and her vulnerability were intact. Despite having to play this very strong role for these women,” said Alia. She continued by saying that it also gave her the courage to speak in front of a large group of people. It was something she had been afraid to do ever since she began working.
“I’m constantly told how young I am and it’s always been that way since I started working. So very often, I would just feel a little nervous to speak my mind or say anything. It was because I was so young, I just feel like you don’t really have a place in the room. That’s something that it gave me - a lot of confidence to speak and to go with my gut and to say what I need to say. That’s one thing that I felt very strongly about this character,” said Alia.
The projects Alia Bhatt has coming up are exciting. She will next be seen in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which also stars Ranveer Singh, Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra, and Jaya Bachchan. The date of the release is set on April 28, 2023. With the movie Heart Of Stone, which also stars Jamie Dornan and Gal Gadot, Alia will make her Hollywood debut.
