Actress Amala Paul is currently basking on the success of her recent flick Pitta Kathalu, which is streaming on Netflix. The actress played the lady love of Jagapathi Babu in this anthology series. Helmed by Nandini Reddy, she played a survivor of domestic abuse. Also, the performance of the actress seemed like has been inspired by how her relationships in life have been.
In this series, Meera played a modern lady who has a conservative idea about marriage. She is subjected to sexual abuse by her paranoid husband, played by Jagapathi Babu, but still tries to manager herself in it. Finally, she decided to put an end to it.
This story is somewhat related to Amala’s personal life. The actress recently opened up on marriage with director AL Vijay, which led to a divorce and then a news. The actress married Vijay in 2014 and soon, in less than a year, her marriage ended.
The actress, talking to a leading agency, said, “This world doesn’t lend any support to women. In fact support to women is non-existent. When I was going through my separation, I don’t remember anyone coming to my support. Instead everyone instilled fear in me. People told me that my career would go for a toss and that I would be disowned by the society.”
