Amazon Prime Video and Aha battling for the digital release of Uppena

The coronavirus pandemic has severely affected the film industries in our country. All the theaters got shut, film productions got stalled and the releases got postponed. Some of the films are opting for a direct digital release as the government has hinted that theaters will not reopen for the next two or three months. Already, Amazon Prime Video has announced that seven Indian films are releasing directly through it. Now, the upcoming Telugu release Uppena is also looking for a direct OTT release. We hear that both Amazon Prime Video and Aha are competing to bag the rights of this film.

According to the sources, the makers of Uppena have decided to release the film directly on a digital platform. Apparently, the makers are now in talks with both Amazon Prime Video and Aha. It seems that both streaming platforms are keen on bagging the rights. The makers will lock deal with the platform which offers a better price. We may get an official announcement regarding this movie's digital release very soon.
Uppena marks the debut of Sai Dharam Tej's brother Panja Vaishnav Tej. Krithi Shetty is debuting as a lead actress with this movie.
