Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra’s Sholay movie will screen at IFFI 2019.

Ramesh Sippy’s 1975 directorial Sholay became a cult classic. The film is set to screen at the 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India in Goa.

Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra’s Sholay movie will screen at IFFI 2019.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the news of Sholay is screening along with a list of other films to screen at the festival. Apart from Sholay, cinephiles can also watch international silent films such as GW Pabst's Pandoras Box, Alfred Hitchcock's Blackmail and Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin at IFFI 2019.

 
 
Sholay will get showcased as part of a segment titled, Retrospective of Amitabh Bachchan. The other movies screened will be Deewaar (1975), Black (2005), Paa (2009), Piku (2015) and Badla (2019). Amitabh Bachchan will attend the ceremony on November 20.

Rajinikanth will also attend the inauguration ceremony and is set to receive the Icon of Golden Jubilee Award by the Government of India for his outstanding contribution to cinema.
 
Sholay completed 44 years in August this year. Apart from Amitabh and Dharmendra, the film included Amjad Khan as Gabbar Singh, Sanjeev Kumar as Thakur, Hema Malini as Basanti and Jaya Bhaduri as Radha. The credit of the iconic dialogues is thanks to the duo of Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan. 

IFFI will run from November 20 to November 28.
