AMMA will take action against actor Shammi Thilakan for breach of discipline. The decision was taken after a majority of members demanded action against Shammi. AMMA officials told a news conference after the General Body meeting.
Shammi continues to take a stand against the organization. The executive committee is therefore tasked with deciding on the expulsion. The office bearers also said that they would seek an explanation from Shammi Thilakan.
During the last General Body meeting, Shammi Thilakan shot some scenes which caused big problems. The executive committee had sought an explanation from Shammi Thilakan on the circumstances under which the scenes were filmed. But Shammi Thilakan did not reply.
Indications are that such a negative approach was also the reason for the decision to expel. AMMA Annual General Body Meeting was chaired by Amma President Mohanlal. Actor and producer Vijay Babu, who was granted bail in the case of the rape of the actress, was also present at the meeting.
Vijay Babu, who was absconding abroad after a newcomer actress complained that he had raped her, arrived in Kochi yesterday. Vijay Babu was granted bail by the court on strict conditions.
