An update about Kahaani’s prequel. Here is when it will go on floors Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani (2012) and Kahaani 2 (2016) received a great response. Now there are talks of a prequel. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the two thrillers are critically acclaimed. As the prequel to the films is in talks, there are already reports that are making the rounds. According to a report in Filmfare Abhishek Bachchan has roped in to play a grey character in the film. However, the prequel will not direct by Sujoy Ghosh. His daughter Diya Ghosh will be making directorial debut with the film.

The report further stated that it hasn’t confirmed if Vidya Balan will be a part of the prequel. The project slated to go on the floors in 2020.

Meanwhile, Sujoy's daughter's first short film Neighbourhood Ties was well appreciated last year. The film even got selected to screen at the Cannes Film Festival.
