Being a celebrity in the digital age means facing unpredictable circumstances. Social media can be quite brutal with its memes and trolls but Ananya Panday believed there is a difference between bullying and constructive criticism. It is the reason she launched the So Positive initiative as Digital Social Responsibility in June this year.
The 21-year-old actress opened up about trolled on social media in an interview with Brides Today. About her initiative, she said, "The world of social media can be so nasty and negative, especially for women. Recently, I've been facing a lot of online bullying and trolling. Luckily, I have a really strong support system, but this is for those who don't."
She received a lot of responses from girls since the launch of the initiative. She elaborated, “So many young girls have come up to me and said that the initiative has helped them stand up to bullies or feel positive about themselves.”
Ananya Panday is one of the few celebrities today to call out bullying and stand up against it. She is doing her part in spreading awareness.
On the professional front, she awaits the release of Pati Patni Aur Woh. She will also star in Khaali Peeli opposite Ishaan Khatter.
