M Mukundan's short story 'Autorickshawkaarante Bharya'(Autorickshaw Driver’s wife) is becoming a film. The film will have the same title as the short story. The film directed by Harikumar stars Ann Augustine in the lead role. The film stars Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead role. The film will mark M Mukundan writing screenplay for the first time.
With the film, 'Autorickshawkaarante Bharya' Ann Augustine will return to acting after a hiatus.
Director Harikumar said that many more parts have been added to the script when the story becomes a film. Suraj's character will have more parts in the film than in the short story. Harikumar told in an interview that both the characters are important in the film.
Hari Kumar says that he has approached many female actors for the role. “The story of the film was told to many Malayalam female actors before Ann Augustine. But for a variety of reasons, nothing went right. When I saw the Facebook post related to Ann Augustine's divorce recently, I thought about making the actress a heroine;” said Hari Kumar. Hari Kumar also said that Ann asked him if she should do the role when she heard the story.
The film, which is set in Mahi and Thalassery, will start shooting in early December. No other cast members are currently working on the film. Santosh Thundi is the cinematographer of the film. The songs written by Prabha Varma are composed by Ouseppachan.
