AR Murugadoss finalises his next film

Director AR Murugadoss has finalised his upcoming film, which is a pan-Indian flick tiled 1947.

Director AR Murugadoss' last project was Darbar starring Rajinikanth, which released in theatres in January 2020. The film, however, received a mixed reaction from the audience and critics alike. After the release of Darbar, he was roped in to direct a film with Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. He had even confirmed the same in one of the interviews. However, days before finalising the film, AR Murgadoss and Sun Pictures had a fallout and due to creative differences, he couldn't go ahead and direct a film with Thalapathy Vijay. Now, the makers have finalised Nelson Dilipkumar to direct Thalapathy 65.

However, AR Murugadoss did not allow this setback to affect him. He has finalised his next production venture. He has joined hands with Om Prakash Bhatt to bankroll a pan-India film titled 1947. The film will be directed by Pon Kumaran, which will have a grand release across the country. 1947 is currently under pre-production and is expected to go on floors in the coming months. Soon, an official announcement regarding the cast and crew of 1947 will be made by the makers.
