AR Murugadoss’s Darbar to address about rape issues

Rajinikanth is presently waiting for the release of his upcoming film Darbar. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film will hit the theatres in three languages on January 9, one week ahead of Pongal. The film features Nayanthara, Suneil Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Nivetha Thomas and Yogi Babu in the lead roles.

In a recent interaction, filmmaker AR Murugadoss revealed that they shot a scene similar to the Disha rape incident in Darbar. He said, “When the Hyderabad cops killed Disha’s rapists, I felt very happy. When cops give exemplary and instant justice, the public admires them. Just as the Hyderabad cops killed the rapists at the spot where the crime took place, there is something similar shown in Darbar. We had shot the episode months before the incident took place. Rajini sir himself called me and talks about that scene after the encounters in Hyderabad.”

He also said that working with Rajinikanth has been an enriching experience. He added, “We have shot the film realistically. For example, a scene shot in actual rain. Rajini sir wasn’t reluctant even a bit to step out in the rain and pull off the scene. His energy would be infectious to the others on set. He always advised me to focus on my work and forget about other things like competition. As a spiritual person too, he has given me valuable suggestions.”
