GV Prakash Kumar is a singer, musician, and now a hero as well. He is a multi-talented person who is shining in Tamil cinema for more than a decade. Today, GV Prakash turns 33. On the occasion of his birthday, we bring you an insight into his career.

 
GV Prakash is the nephew of music director AR Rahman. Before starting his career as a music composer, he used to assist Rahman. He made his debut as a music director with the 2006 film Veyil. GV was just 19 years old then. The film became a commercial success and also brought fame to GV. He made his Telugu debut with the 2008 film Ullasamga Utsahamga. Even this movie was a super hit and so was its music album. The 2010 film Madarasipattanam and the 2011 movie Aadukalam brought huge acclaim to GV. He won his first Filmfare Award for Aadukalam.
 
Eventually, GV Prakash Kumar has also ventured into acting. His first film as a hero was Pencil, but it was Darling which had hit the screens first. Darling brought him a Filmfare Award once again, but this time in the Best Actor (Debut) category. As an actor, GV went to score many hits at the box office. Some of his hit films include Trisha Illana Nayanthara, Kadavul Irukan Kumaaru, Naachiyaar, Sarvam Thala Mayam, and 100% Kaadhal. His next release will be Jail. This film is being directed by Vasanthabalan. GV Prakash is also making his Hollywood debut with the movie Trap City which is in the production stages.
