One of the most accomplished directors in South India is KS Ravi Kumar. He has made many successful films in Tamil over the past three decades. He has also directed quite a few films in Telugu as well. Today, Ravi Kumar celebrates his 62nd birthday. On this occasion, let us have a look into his career.
 
Before making his debut as a director, Ravi Kumar assisted Vikraman for the film Pudhu Vasantham. He made his directorial debut with Puriyaadha Puthir. The film was a success at the box office. Later, Ravi Kumar made a name for himself by directing mass masala entertainers. His 1994 film Nattamai won two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, for Best Film and Best Director. He also helmed films like Muthu, Parambarai, Dharma Chakkaram, Natpukkaga, and Padayappa. Ravi Kumar has also continued his success during the 2000s. He made many hit films like Panchathanthiram, Villain, Varalaru, Dasavatharam, Aadhavan, Jaggu Bhai, and Manmadhan Anbu. In Telugu, Ravi Kumar has directed films like Sneham Kosam, Bava Nachadu, Jai Simha, and Ruler.
 
Ravi Kumar is also a talented actor. He has acted in small roles in almost all of his directorial films. Of late, he has started acting in the films directed by other filmmakers. He has appeared in many recent films like Thanga Magan, Rekka, Remo, Maayavan, Aayogya, and Comali. Ravi Kumar is yet to announce his next directorial. However, he is currently acting in the film Cobra, which stars Vikram in the lead role.
