Ashwin Kakamanu made his acting debut in actor Ajith’s Mankatha, directed by Venkat Prabu. In the film, he essayed the role of an antagonist and got great feedback for his performance as a corrupt cop. He went on to star in films like Zero and Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara.
Now, the actor has landed a big role in Mani Ratnam’s epic project Ponniyin Selvan. Ashwin Kakamanu took to Twitter to reveal the news and added that it’s a special film as he had been associated with Mani Ratnam in Aayutha Ezhuthu before he began his acting career.
He wrote, “Looking forward to enjoying the process & the journey.I was part of background sound fx for the college students in #Aaythaezhuthu and so it's extra special to play a role in #PonniyinSelvan #longroads (sic)”
Ponniyin Selvan has a huge star cast comprising Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Keerthy Suresh, Karthi and several top actors. The technical crew comprises of composer AR Rahman and lyricist Vairamuthu.
