Avengers: Endgame records the highest weekend box office collections at Rs 186.53 Cr
Setting new records, Avengers: Endgame the last flick in the superheroes series of Marvel Cinematic Universe has recorded the highest weekend box office collections at Rs 186.53 crore. It has now created a new history in the Hollywood world in India.
Breaking the record of Avengers: Infinity War which had collected Rs 120.90 crore gross in its first three days, the new 22nd film in the series has collected a whopping $ 26.7 million gross in India. The film had set a new record by opening at a massive Rs 53 crore at the domestic box office. It was the second biggest opening in Indian box office history, following Baahubali: The Conclusion’s Rs 121 crore opening.
Avengers Endgame has earned Rs 52.7 crore on Sunday, thus taking the total to Rs 157.2 crore. Released across 2845 screens in India in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu, Avengers is unstoppable at the ticket windows. Interestingly, the screen count is much lesser than what many Hindi blockbusters get. The film boasts of a star-studded cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Bradley Cooper and Josh Brolin.
Coming to the international market, the film has collected a stunning $350 million in North America $329 million in China alone and $1.2 billion worldwide as reported by Variety. Avengers Endgame has got a thumbs up from fans and critics alike. India Today critic Lakshana Palat gave it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars and wrote, "Avengers: Endgame delivers on the super-sized expectations with class, a generous dose of Marvel-style humour, a bucketload of emotion and of course, edge-of-the-seat action."
