NTR's comeback Hit Temper was recently remade in Bollywood as Simmba with Ranveer Singh in the lead, and the film went on to become a huge blockbuster. The Tamil remake Ayogya is next in line, with Vishal stepping into NTR's shoes this time. The teaser of the film was launched on Wednesday evening to largely positive response. Ayogya looks like a faithful remake of Temper, while on the other hand, Rohit Shetty took the liberty to tweak quite a few parts of Temper in Simmba.
NTR fans may not be convinced with Vishal (as evidenced in their comments on social media), but one must admit that the tall actor has always been good in action scenes. With Ram - Laxman in charge of the stunts, we can see their trademark moves and 'mass' stamp in the teaser itself. Vishal pulls it off with swag and style.
Raashi Khanna is the pretty, dolled-up heroine for romancing Vishal; Pooja Devariya and Sonia Agarwal have roles more in line with the story. The casting of KS Ravikumar (as Vishal's skeptical colleague in the police force) and R.Parthiepan (as the main villain) definitely seems to have worked well for Ayogya. Even in Simmba, Ashutosh Rana was really impressive in the role done by KS Ravikumar (Posani Krishna Murali in Temper); it's a really impactful part which moves closely with that of the hero.
Debutant director Venkat Mohan has a proven hit in hand and he has safely and seemingly tried not to tamper with the core content of Temper. Some of his dialogues are impressive ("the hero may be named Karnan, but he knows only to take, not to give"). Sam CS's background score reminds us of his well received score for films like Vikram Vedha.
Ayogya will be a summer release this April. The teaser, cut by promo specialist Ruben, hints at a faithful, well shot remake of Temper.
Verdict : Ayogya looks like a safe, sound and faithful remake of Temper
