Article 15 revolves around the story of a police officer named Ayan Ranjan, who gets appointed in rural area of Uttar Pradesh. How he fought against the caste system of rural India forms the main plot of this movie. Until then, Ayushmann was best known for playing guy-next-door characters in comedy-dramas. This film changed the perception of audiences towards the actor. He proved that he can do intense roles with ease. His performance is one of the major highlights of the movie. Veteran actors like Nassar, Kumud Mishra, and Manoj Pahwa also gave their best to the film. Article 15 won three Filmfare Awards in total, which are Critics Award for Best Film, Critics Award for Best Actor and Best Story.
