Ayushmann Khurrana's powerful film Article 15 celebrates a year of its release

One of the powerful films that came out in recent times is Ayushmann Khurrana's Article 15. The film blatantly bashes the caste discrimination that still exists in our society. Generally, these kinds of films don't get much reception from the audiences. But Article 15 proved that theory wrong. When the content is powerful enough, audiences will definitely accept it. Today, the film completes one year of its release. On this occasion, here is a look back into it.
Article 15 revolves around the story of a police officer named Ayan Ranjan, who gets appointed in rural area of Uttar Pradesh. How he fought against the caste system of rural India forms the main plot of this movie. Until then, Ayushmann was best known for playing guy-next-door characters in comedy-dramas. This film changed the perception of audiences towards the actor. He proved that he can do intense roles with ease. His performance is one of the major highlights of the movie. Veteran actors like Nassar, Kumud Mishra, and Manoj Pahwa also gave their best to the film. Article 15 won three Filmfare Awards in total, which are Critics Award for Best Film, Critics Award for Best Actor and Best Story.
Ayushmann remembered the movie this morning by sharing a post about it. Replying to him, director Anubhav Sinha wrote, "Khurrana thanks for pushing me to make this first. Thank you team for all you passion and talent and drive. Here’s to many more. Sending love to you all."
