Nandamuri Balakrishna is not only an actor and a politician but also a philanthropist as well. He heads the popular hospital, Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Research Institute, located in Hyderabad. We all are aware that Balakrishna's mother Basavatarakam had lost her life due to cancer. Even though they were wealthy, they couldn't get proper treatment as there was no good facility in Hyderabad. Thus, Basavatarakam asked her children to provide world-class facilities for Telugu people. That is when Balakrishna decided to build this hospital.
Many cancer patients are getting treatment for less cost in this hospital and some of them are getting free treatment as well. Speaking at a recent event, Balakrishna said, "Youth is the main strength of today's India. We have to protect our youth. It is our responsibility. As my mother's wish, we are giving world-class treatment for cancer, for a low cost."
These are some golden words spoken by the actor, which are winning the hearts of people. They hoped that Balakrishna continues his service towards this noble cause. On the career front, Balakrishna is currently prepping up to start the shoot of his next film under the direction of Boyapati Srinu. He was last seen in Ruler.
