The Supreme Court on Saturday cleared the way for the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. As the verdict came out, not just the people of the country but Bollywood celebrities also took to Twitter and other social media platforms to give in their two cents about the judgment. In the unanimous judgment, the five-member bench directed the Centre to form within three months a trust, which will build a Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. The top court also asked the government to give alternate 5-acre land to the Sunni Waqf Board, which was a party to the title suit.
Actors like Koena Mitra, Huma Qureshi, Farhan Akhtar, Kunal Kapoor and filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar and Hansal Mehta were amongst the first few to welcome Supreme Court's decision. Most of these tweets or captions were mostly about asking the public to accept the verdict with grace and maintain peace. Taapsee Pannu, Farhan Akhtar, and Kangana Ranaut among others took to Twitter and asked the citizens to accept the verdict with grace. They also said that this judgment was proof that everyone can ‘coexist peacefully’.
