Cyclone Amphan has left many families homeless and tens of people dead in its aftermath in Bengal and Orissa.

Many parts of Orissa and most of West Bengal is suffering badly as it attempts to survive the super cyclone Amphan. The cyclone has already left many families without a home in its aftermath. Many were evacuated by the state governments in both Orissa and Bengal. However, officials in Bengal have confirmed that the cyclone has claimed over 79 lives already. Bollywood celebrities have also joined in to show support and solidarity for those suffering due to the sudden super cyclone.

 
Many stars and celebrities including the likes of Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor and Karan Johar have expressed grief over the people suffering due to the cyclone. Arjun Kapoor took to Twitter and wrote, "What happened in West Bengal and Odisha is extremely saddening and the damage done by the cyclone is devastating! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who have been affected and the family members of the victims of #CycloneAmphan."
 
Famous Bollywood producer and filmmaker Karan Johar also tweeted out writing, "Can this year get any worse! Stay safe Bengal...All of us pray for your safety and protection.... #CyclonAmphan."
 
Director Shoojit Sircar who is currently waiting for the release of his film Gulabo Sitabo is also stuck in Kolkata. The director shared his own experience of witnessing the cyclone first hand. He wrote, "Never before experienced this kind of chilling and devastating winds... Amphan Super Cyclone is huge.. Praying for minimum damage and destruction. Bengal will need a lot of support to get out of this devastation. Uprooted trees and toppled homes of poor.. It may take years to get to normal in some areas."
