Socio fantasy films always have a special place in the Telugu film industry. Right from its inception, Tollywood and its audiences have always embraced socio fantasy films with warm hands. Thus, it is often considered one of the safest bets to take up. One of the best socio-fantasy films made in Telugu cinema is Yamudiki Mogudu. Directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetti, this film featured Megastar Chiranjeevi as the lead hero. It was a highly successful venture and became an industry hit. The film celebrates the 32nd release anniversary today. On this occasion, let us have a recap into it.
 
Yamudiki Mogudu had hit the screens on April 29, 1988. It featured Vijayashanti and Radha as the female leads. Veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana played the role of Lord Yama Dharma Raja in the movie. The story of the film revolves around Kaali who gets killed by goons. He then makes a deal with Lord Yama Dharma Raja in the hell and comes back to earth. Chiranjeevi's acting and his camaraderie with Satyanarayana received huge acclaim from the viewers.
 
The music of the film got composed by Raj-Koti. All the songs were highly successful. Especially, Andam Hindolam became a chartbuster and gained a classic status over the years. The film was later remixed in the 2016 film Supreme. It collected more than Rs. 5 crores share at the box office. It was also the first Telugu film to collect a gross of more than Rs. 5 crores. It got produced by GV Narayana Rao under the banner Dynamic Movie Makers.
