Despite his rigorous hard work towards the physical look in every film, Chiyaan Vikram is yet to get that major success he deserves. Films like I, Mallanna and Inkokkadu prove his dedication towards films and his roles but unfortunately, none of them has become a box-office success. However, the flop results are not stopping Vikram from accepting challenging roles. The actor has recently signed two films, Cobra and Ponniyin Selvan.
The shoot of Cobra started a few months back and going on at a rapid pace. It is being directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and KGF fame Srinidhi Shetty is playing the female lead in this movie. Popular cricketer Irrfan Pathan is playing a key role in this film which is being bankrolled jointly by Viacom 18 Studios and 7 Screen Studios.
On the other side, Ponniyin Selvan is being helmed by maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam. Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Karthi, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are playing the lead roles in this movie. The shoot of this film started recently in Thailand and successfully completed its first schedule. The second schedule will kickstart from the next month. Vikram, who is playing the role of Adithya Karikalan, will join the shoot in that next schedule. The actor will balance both the shoots for a couple of months. While Cobra will mostly hit the screens this summer, Ponniyin Selvan will release it in 2021.
