It all started when Ranveer posted an adorable video of Deepika and called her his "cheerleader" in the caption. He wrote. “Ohh I think I found myself a cheerleader! #apnatimeaayega #throwback @deepikapadukone.” In the throwback clip, the actress sings Apna Time Aega from Ranveer's 2019 film Gully Boy. Minutes after this, Deepika struck back. She posted a picture of him, in which he treats himself to a spa (a face mask). She wrote: "In other news, Cleopatra is very busy as you can see..."
Reacting to Deepika's post, Ranveer commented: "Meri nikhri twacha ka raaz toh ... tum ho!”
Ranveer's "Cleopatra" picture reminded viewers of Deepika's old Instagram story. The story featured the actor prepping for his first wedding anniversary by applying a face mask.
Speaking of reminders, viewers might want to look back on the video of Deepika Padukone in which she recreates Ranveer Singh's dialogue "Aye, aaya police" from his film Simmba. The video shared on social media by Ranveer after the release of the film. It is similar to the Gully Boy clip the actor posted.
It could be that Deepika and Ranveer's posts have connections to the upcoming Filmfare awards. Ranveer flew to Assam within hours of landing in Mumbai. He might be getting ready for the awards, where Gully Boy got nominated for the Best Film.
On the professional front, Deepika Padukone will next feature in the Hindi remake of Hollywood film The Intern. Ranveer Singh's upcoming films include '83, Takht and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Deepika will also feature in ‘83 as Romi Dev.
