Deepika Padukone is all set to work and take up big projects this year. Unlike last year, when the actress had decided to go on a break for a while, this year has brought back-to-back projects for her. She started off the year working in a socially relevant film, Chapaak, which is on the real-life story of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor. And now, the Padmaavat actress is ready to step into the shoes of the Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway, for the Hindi remake of the film The Intern.
The project, which will be a 2021 release, will also star the veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. He will be playing the role of Robert De Niro, showcases as a widower in the film. "The Intern’ is a very relevant film for the present-day Indian workplace milieu and it showcases human relationships beautifully,” said Rishi Kapoor.
Announcing the project on her social media handles, Deepika wrote, "Thrilled to present my next! The Indian adaptation of #TheIntern .A 2021 release! Presented by _KaProductions warnerbrosindia and iAmAzure See you at the movies!" The director of the film is yet to confirm as the producers are still looking for options.
