We all are already aware that actress Deepika Padukone has turned into a producer with her recent film Chhapaak. Now, she has decided to produce another film under her banner KaProductions and this time, it will be a remake. Deepika, in association with Warner Brothers India and Azure Entertainment, is remaking the Hollywood drama The Intern into Hindi soon.
The Intern is a 2015 light-hearted comedy that has Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro in the lead roles. In the Hindi version, Deepika will reprise Anne's role and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor will essay De Niro's character from the original.
Deepika has announced the project by tweeting, "Thrilled to present my next! The Indian adaptation of #TheIntern A 2021 release! Presented by @_KaProductions@warnerbrosindiaand @iAmAzure. See you at the movies! @chintskap."
The shoot of this film will go on floor in later this year and it will hit the screens in 2021. The Intern was a big hit in Hollywood and the Hindi makers are planning to achieve the same feat here as well. The director of the film is yet to get finalized. Meanwhile, Deepika will be next seen in the film 83, in which she played an extended cameo.
