Dev D actress signs the Hindi remake of Bhaagmathie remake

Star actress Anushka's superhit horror-thriller Bhaagmathie is now getting remade into Hindi as Durgavati. Bhumi Padnekar will reprise the role of Anushka in this remake. Ashok, who directed the original, is helming this film as well. Akshay Kumar is producing this film jointly with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. Both Akshay and Bhumi have earlier acted together in the film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. This time, Akshay will just be the producer and is not acting alongside Bhumi.

The regular shoot of this film will start from tomorrow in Madhya Pradesh. The team has already finalized a few locations for the film which include Moti Mahal, Sadar Manzil, Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Old Central Jail in Bhopal, Minto Hall and Poha Bhata village. According to the confirmed reports from the B-Town, actress Mahie Gill is essaying a key role in this movie. She will play the role of a powerful police officer in it. Mahie is best known for her work in films like Dev D, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Dabangg 2. The sources revealed that Mahi will join the shoot later and in the meantime, the makers will shoot the scenes with Bhumi. Stay tuned for more updates on this film.
