Dhanush and the entire team of Jagame Thandhiram have been patiently waiting for the release of the film. Earlier, the makers had planned to release the film in theatres. However, the last few days suggest that producer Sashikanth of Y Not Studios is leaning towards a direct OTT release. Reportedly, OTT giant Netflix had proposed a golden deal that Sashikanth couldn't refuse. He is on the verge of finalizing the deal with Netflix. Ever since the news leaked on social media, Dhanush's fans have been requesting the actor and the makers to release the film in theatres.
Dhanush, too, is feeling what his fans are feeling. Due to this decision of producer Sashikanth, the actor had a major fallout with him and they are not on talking terms. On February 2, Dhanush's tweet confirmed the same. He wrote, "I am hoping for the theatrical release of Jagame Thandiram like the theatre owners, exhibitors, distributors, cinema lovers and most of all my fans. Fingers crossed (sic)." Dhanush feels that Jagame Thandhiram can release in theatres as the Tamil Nadu government has allowed 100 percent occupancy in theatres. In a few days, there will be more clarity on Jagame Thandhiram's release.
