Vijay Sethupathi is one of the busiest actors in town. During the Covid-19 lockdown, the actor has branched out and started doing films in Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi as well. Currently, he is busy shooting for Kamal Haasan's Vikram, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Viduthalai, Merry Christmas, Gandhi Talks, Michael, and a web series with directors, Raj and DK. Apart from these films, Vijay Sethupathi is in talks with filmmakers like Prem Kumar, Mahesh Narayanan, and others. Reportedly, for a film, the producer wanted to approach Tollywood actress Kriti Shetty to pair opposite Vijay Sethupathi.
Vijay Sethupathi reportedly asked the producers not to rope in Kriti Shetty and look for another heroine. The reason that Vijay Sethupathi gave was that he played the role of Kriti's father in Uppena and feels uncomfortable to see Kriti as his romantic pair. Vijay Sethupathi seems to have taken this decision on sentimental grounds. In the past, several heroes including Sivaji Ganesan have decided not to pair with actresses who had played their daughters on screen. Vijay Sethupathi is gearing up for the releases of Laabam, Tughlaq Durbar, and Annabelle Sethupathi. The three films are releasing in theatres, television, and OTT, respectively.
