Dil Raju to earmark whopping budget to 96’ Telugu remake
Vijay Sethupati and Trisha’s '96’ can be quoted as one of the trendsetters with its heart-warming storyline. The budding young love took the hearts of the many cinephiles. On this note, all the top filmmakers queued up for remake rights. It was already announced that Dil Raju has bought the Telugu remake rights while original version's director Prem Kumar will helm the Telugu version also.
Sharwanand and Samantha would be essaying Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha's roles respectively and if the sources are to be believed Raju gave a superb budget for the movie to shoot it at extravagant locales. This has raised the brow of many movie biggies as our filmmakers tend to put less money on 'remake' projects.
The makers are planning a major change in the script, the story which happened in 1996 in the Tamil will be set to happen in 2009 in the Telugu remake. This hints us that Sharwanand might be shown in comparatively young role. Another major change is that Sharwa will be shown as someone who works around the world, clicking photographs in Kenyan wildlife sanctuaries and Australian terrains as well.
The title of the remake is yet to be revealed and the shooting of the film is expected to commence in March. Makers are planning to release the film sometime in August.
