Simbu’s Eeswaran audio launch took place at the Albert theatre in Chennai on January 2. The audio launch was a grand affair with Simbu talking about his drastic transformation and the line up of films he has for the next couple of years. However, a huge controversy interrupted when director Suseenthiran kept interfering with actress Nidhhi Agerwal’s speech in the name of teasing her. Many people on social media said that this was borderline bullying and condemned Suseenthiran for not letting Nidhhi Agerwal talk.
During the speech, he kept asking Nidhhi to talk about Simbu. After receiving flak for his behaviour, Suseenthiran and Nidhhi Agerwal recorded a video in which he justified his distasteful behaviour. He said that Nidhhi Agerwal’s character in Eeswaran is to love Simbu and express her love for him. He requested the audience to understand the context and said that his intention was not wrong. In the video, Nidhhi Agerwal kept nodding and seemed to have taken the situation lightly. Eeswaran, which also stars Nandita Swetha, will release in theatres on January 14. After Eeswaran, Simbu and Suseenthiran will join hands for another film, which will release on Diwali.
