It has been quite a while since director Venkat Prabhu’s film hit the theatres. His previous film was Chennai 600028 part 2, which received middling response from the audience. The director’s next film Party, that had completed a couple of years ago, is still yet to see the light of the day.
Back in 2018, Venkat Prabhu announced a film with actor Simbu. The film produced by Suresh Kamatchi under his home banner V House Productions. However, the producer announced that he has dropped Simbu from the project as he failed to turn up for the film’s shooting.
Later, they all patched up after having a series of meetings. Recently, Venkat Prabhu appeared in a TV show and opened up about his upcoming film Maanadu. He said that the film is going to be a huge challenge for him as it is a new script and something that is different from the projects he has done before.
He also added that the film will be a new attempt for Simbu and something that he hasn’t attempted before. He stated that Simbu will soon start shooting for the film and that he’s keeping his fingers crossed for the outcome of Maanadu. The formal announcement of Maanadu will arrive on Pongal.
