After the 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan Johar is making his feature film comeback with the film Takht. Touted to be a period drama, this film traces the story of royal brothers Aurangazeb and Dara Shikoh. While Ranveer Singh is playing the role of Dara Shikoh, Vicky is essaying the role of Aurangazeb. Speaking about his excitement on working in this film, Vicky said that it is definitely off his bucket list as he always wanted to do a period drama. With Karan Johar making a comeback after 4 years, the project has garnered a lot of special attention now, in the Bollywood film industry.

 
Speaking in a recent interview, Vicky said that he is very much excited to work with an ensemble of great actors like Ranveer, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor,Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekar. Apart from Bhumi (in Bhoot), Vicky hasn't acted with any other actors before. Thus, he is looking forward to working on this film. Since the film has a big star cast, the expectations on the film are generally high and we are sure that it will work out.
 
Vicky stated that he loves Ranveer Singh and his energy. He stated that both of them sit on each other's laps whenever they meet. Vicky added that it will be a bit difficult to play a warring brother of Ranveer. Both Ranveer and Vicky are undergoing massive body transformation for this film. Takht will go on floors in the second half of this year
