Dulquer Salmaan's Kurup Not To Release On OTT?

Dulquer Salman's Kurup will have a theatrical release. The film is reportedly set to release in theaters in November this year. The film will have its release outside India as well. Earlier, there were reports that the film would have an OTT release. But the latest reports about the release came after the government decided to open theaters in Kerala by the end of October. However, no official announcement has been made about the theatrical release.

 
Though, columnist and writer Sreedhar Pillai wrote a confirmation note on Twitter that the film will have released in theatres. “#Kurup, it is confirmed #DQ thriller will have a theatrical release worldwide in November 2021. Tentative theatre booking has started in #Kerala through @DQsWayfarerFilm. Earlier there were reports that it could go streaming. #DulquerSalmaan #Kurup #Theatrical;” wrote Sreedhar.
 
Kurup is a film directed by Srinath Rajendran. Kurup is based on the life of Sukumara Kurup, the infamous captive in Kerala. Kurup will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. The film, which is being made on the biggest budget of Dulquar's career, has a budget of Rs 35 crore. Wayfarer Films owned by Dulquer Salman, and M Star Entertainment produced the film. Kurup's filming in different locations including Kerala, and Dubai lasted for six months.
 
Srinath Rajendran directs the film Kurup. Jithin K Jose wrote the film, scripted and narrated by Daniel Soyuz Nair and KS Aravind. Nimish Ravi is the cinematographer and Sushin Shyam is the music director.
 
The heroine of the movie is Shobhitha Dhulipala. She made her Malayalam debut with the movie ‘Moothon’. The film also stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Sunny Wayne, and Shine Tom Chacko.
