Even April First Week Releases Get Postponed Due To The Coronavirus Pandemic
Even April first week releases get postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Everyone thought that the theatres would begin the operations from April 1 but it is still uncertain because of the coronavirus outbreak and the Telugu releases in April stay stalled.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the government of India has decided to shut down all the theatres till the 31st of this month. This has affected the recently released films as well as the movies which were gearing up for the release. All the films which were actually planned to release in the last two weeks of March are now postponed. Now, the films which were originally scheduled for April first week, are also getting postponed.
There were three big releases geared up for the April 2nd release this year. They were Rana Daggubati'sAranya, Anushka Shetty's Nishabdham and Panja Vaishnav Tej's Uppena. All those films now got postponed. The makers are yet to announce the new release dates of these films. They will get announced depending on the situation of corona crisis in the country. Looking at the current scenario, the corona scare might last longer than expected. Thus, April may also become a dull month for the film industry with no or fewer releases.
The makers are also not allowed to host any pre-release events in this period. Thus, there might not be any big releases in the first two weeks of April even though the theatres get opened on April 1st. We hear that the makers will take a call on the release dates of these films only after getting clarity on the reopening of the theatres.
Already, big films like Nani's V and Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi got postponed due to corona scare. We have to wait and see how the producers manage to come up with the new release dates without any major clashes.
