Superstar Mahesh Babu and director Vamshi Paidipally teamed up for the first time in their career, for the film Maharshi. The film became a big hit at the box-office, leaving everyone stunned. Maharshi featured Mahesh Babu playing the role of a college student, a multi-national company CEO, and a Farmer. The movie had bits and pieces about the farmers and their welfare. Pooja Hegde played the leading lady in the film. Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies and PVP under PVP Cinema produced the film. The film released during Summer last year.

Now, the actor-director-producer duo is making a comeback on the big screen. Mahesh Babu signed his next officially with Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Dil Raju co-produces the film along with the production giant Sony Entertainments. Vamshi Paidipally finished the script work for the film and he will begin the pre-production work soon. The film's launch takes place in the month of April and the regular shoot of the project begins in the month of June. The makers want the film to hit the screens during Sankranthi, next year. Thaman is the music director for the film. Kiara Advani teams up with Mahesh Babu as his romantic interest. The buzz is that Mahesh plays the role of a gangster in the movie.
