Farhan Akhtar congratulated India's women's hockey team on their Olympic victory instead of the men's hockey team. His now-deleted tweet made headlines. He tweeted, “Go girls,” but then removed the message. The screenshot of his tweet has gone viral on social media.

 
Several Bollywood celebrities congratulated Team India on social media just after the Indian men's hockey team earned a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Farhan Akhtar also left a comment. He praised the Indian women's squad instead of the men's team.
 
Farhan Akhtar's deleted post read, “Go girls. So proud of team India for showing exemplary fighting spirit and bringing in our 4th medal.. super stuff. #Tokyo2020 Hockey.”
 
The actor deleted the post and Tweeted again congratulating team India. His Tweet reads,
 
This honest mistake by the actor has made fuzz in social media. Internet users have created a meme fest in response to Farhan Akhtar's recent congratulations post.
 
At the current Tokyo Olympics, the Indian men's hockey team earned bronze. The team won the medal by defeating Germany 5-4. The Indian hockey team has won a medal in the Olympics for the first time in 41 years.
